Setting the map in the Huawei Health app

Open Huawei AppGallery and update the Huawei Health to the latest version, then go to Me > Settings > Map and set up the map service you want to use.

As support for the map service can be affected by the user's location, app version, and network environment, we recommend you to set the map option to Auto.

Select a service based on your actual situation. Use the following examples for reference:

  • If you are using the Huawei Health app (global version) in regions outside the Chinese mainland, but your phone doesn't have Google mobile services (GMS), you can only use HUAWEI.
  • If you are using the Huawei Health app (global version) in regions outside the Chinese mainland, and your phone has GMS installed, you can set the map option to Google Maps or HUAWEI.
  • If you are using the Huawei Health app (global version) in the Chinese mainland and have selected HUAWEI, Huawei Health will be able to track your route, but cannot display the map background. If you are staying in the Chinese mainland for a long time, it is recommended that you log in with your HUAWEI ID and make sure your region is the Chinese mainland so you can use all the features properly.
  • If you are using the Huawei Health app (global version) in the Chinese mainland and your phone has GMS installed, you can set the map option to Amap, Google Maps, or HUAWEI. You are advised to use Amap in the Chinese mainland, as Google Maps and Huawei's services do not support the full range of services.
  • If you are using the Huawei Health app (Chinese version) in regions outside the Chinese mainland, you are advised to set the map option to Auto. The Huawei Health app will then choose the map service that is able to support the most functions for that region.

    1. Currently, the Huawei map service is unavailable in Cambodia, Iran, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.
    2. If you do not see Discover tab at the bottom of the Huawei Health app, it indicates that you are using the global version.
